Colin Revelman is quite different from most lawyers.
He’ll cut to the chase and provide legal advice with exceptional clarity, and because he’s worked in the real world, he brings a balanced perspective you’ll struggle to find elsewhere.
Growing up around the law (nephew of Lionel Revelman QC, the youngest QC in Australia & Commonwealth at the time), Colin completed a Master of Laws in Legal Practice from The Australian National University, and authored papers on Employers Duty of Care in Workplace Bullying, Inducing Breach of Restrictive Covenants in Employment Agreements, Dispute Resolution and Private International Law.
Due to Colin’s experience in his primary practice are of workplace law, in early 2023 he was contracted as Special Counsel to the NSW Department of Education to lead the Employment Law unit. The Department is the largest employer in NSW and one of the largest in Australia. exceeding 140,000 employees. This role was subsequent to a previous assignment as a legal counsel for the NSW Police Force, in the Employment Law Unit, Office of The General Counsel.
Like many of us born into a profession, he wandered away for a while before returning with senior management experience in the commercial real estate and hospitality industries.
Working in a boutique law firm in Sydney, Colin specialised in Employment Law & Industrial Relations, Commercial Litigation, Criminal Law and Migration Law.
Eventually he set up Revelman Legal, and now he brings all that experience to you.
Colin regularly appears in all jurisdictions including the NSW Local, District and Supreme Courts, the Chief Industrial Magistrates Court, the Federal Courts and specialist tribunals including the Fair Work Commission (FWC) and the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT).
